Don't know anything about installing memory, but just purchased 2x16 GB DDR4 RAM for my i7-7800x PC with MSI 299X Raider motherboard. It already has 4x4 GB DDR4 RAM installed in 4 of the 8 slots I see. The Intel website says my processor supports 4 Channels.
Does that mean that I can install these two extra sticks in the 2 remaining slots, mix 2 new and 2 old, or just install the 2 new sticks and remove the others?
Note: I need lots of RAM for multi tasking work in Unreal Engine + Photoshop + 3D software
