Question Memory keeps crashing after upping the memory speed

Memory can' t even go to 2933 mhz because when i boot up it always crashes.
When i use the memory at 2166 (bios out of box speed) boots up and works just fine. I did set it to xmp but it still didnt work, infact it was worse than auto which could get to the 20 seconds of windows usage before it crashed.
Im using a asrock b450m steel legend and g.skill 3200mhz memory. Is it the limit of my motherboard or something else?

Cpu is ryzen 2200g and mobo i can't see since im runing memtest86 but the box says it has 3000 ryzen support and i have a few errors on the memtest86

Errors are:

Test: 6 Addr: 1A0B99140 Expected: 00000000 Actual: 80000000 CPU: 1

Test: 6 Addr: 1A2B99120 Expected: 00000000 Actual: 80000000 CPU: 1

Ram is F4-3200C16D-8GVKB, XMP Sets it to 1.35 volts. I set the ram to 2133mhz on prime 95 over night and 8 hours later no errors but setting it to 2666mhz after 10 minutes there is a rounding error

It's not just speed. Timings and voltage also matter. Sometimes the timings don't get set right. If your ram is 18-18-18-30 at 3200MHz, you need to make sure those timings are being applied. Manually set them if you aren't sure.

When I bought my ram I knew it wasn't on my boards approved list. But I read the reviews on Amazon and knew people were getting them to work with Ryzen chips. I turned on XMP and was prepared to manually set things, but it wasn't needed. Went from stock to 3200MHz and all is good. But I've heard that's not always the case and you need to do it yourself.

I set it to 16 18 18 38 at 1.35 volts and ran prime95 at 2800 and still got errors, upped voltage to 1.4 and ran prime95 at 2800 and it seemed to be okay for a few minutes so i ran furmark to and the whole pc just froze. Maybe it was overheating since my fans when i turned off and on the computer after it froze were going crazy for a few seconds before until they went back to normal.

The pc ran just fine with prime95 and furmark with no errors for 2 or 3 minutes before freezing up.

My ram also isnt on the support list for my mobo should i return it and get one that is supported

What happens at 18-18-18-38? 18x3-40? What are the timings supposed to be at 3200MHz? Is there a bios update for your board? What are the temps for the CPU and VRMs?
Ill try out 18 18 18 38 and 18 18 18 40 and my rams xmp sets timings to 16 18 18 38, ill check out the bios update and cpu temps are very high reaching 95°C on stock cooler with furmark and prime95 probably because of my rx 570 and for the vrms i have to check their temps out to.

Also i did oc my cpu just to 3.8ghz and vcore to 1.4v probably the reason it overheated. Also is my 550w psu enough for a 2200g at the oc settings and rx 570 nitro+ 8gb stock (gpu power consumption is 195w on sapphire site), 2 sticks of ddr4 with dram voltage to 1.4v, b450 mobo, kingston 248gb ssd and 1 cpu fan and 1 case fan?

Test each stick individually to see what they can do. If they have same results that are not positive, it is a sure reason to update BIOS. However if one module performs differently, it can be a bad module that needs to be replaced. Also, if you find a single module can not be stable at say DDR4-2800, chances are two modules would not work either. For individual testing, second slot away from CPU should be used.

Sorry for replying so late, i updated the mobo from 2.1 to 2.5 and it still isn't fixed, i didn't check each stick individualy but im pretty certaint that both sticks are good it's just that the motherboard doesn't support them so i will be eagerly waiting for a new bios update with support for this ram. For now i can run stabily at 2400MHz and it will be enough for gaming on my esports titles. Thank you both for helping me!
