I currently have a Dell Dimension 4100, it has 2 memory slots and the tech specs on the web site says that the most the machine can handle is 512mb. What happens if I try to put in 2 512mb chips in the Dell for a total of a gig ? Will it work ?

Thanks

Nope. It seems like it would, but all motherboards can only hold a certain amount, that isn't always directly linked to the # of slots.
However, there might be a BIOS upgrade you can download. Just find out what motherboard you have and get the latest BIOS from their website.

If you have more than 512MB RAM and are running Windows 95, 98, 98SE, or ME, you may not have enough cache to handle all of your memory.

I wonder...what is the speed of gravity?

Yeah, and a Dimension 4100 comes with ME. I should know *shudder*
I had to live with the thing for a couple of weeks.
