Memory management error.

I bought new memory for my PC. Ever since, I get random fatal Windows errors (memory management). I have tried a whole bunch of different settings in BIOS with no luck.

When I bought the memory, I didn't know about qualified vendor lists and bought a type of memory not on the list for my motherboard. Could this be the reason for for the random Windows crashing? Memtest86 shows no errors after 5 passes and other memory checking programs also show no errors. The RAM seems to be good.

The only thing I haven't tried is a re installation of Windows. And this is the main question I am asking about: if all else fails, is a re installation of Windows at all likely to get the new memory to work? Has that worked for anyone?

Memory: PNY ddr3 1600 4Gb X2

Is your bios up to date?
Companies have been known to make patches for ram.

My BIOS is up to date however the last update for my mobo (ASUS by the way) is dated about 7 years ago. Everything is up to date including my OS (Win 10 64-bit), graphics card, sound card, etc and I have tried numerous configurations in my BIOS.

The only thing I haven't tried is a reinstallation of Windows, which is actually the main question I am asking: how likely is the chance that reinstalling Windows will fix the problem? Has that worked for anyone in this situation?
