Memory mixing, Corsair DDR4

Can i mix a 2133 mhz Corsair LPX 2x4 DDR4 set with a 2400 mhz Corsair LPX 2x4 DDR4 set, the 2133 is overclockable to 2400 though, they just have different timings.

You can mix them , the only problem is the 2400 ram will run at 2133. With overclock maybe you can run both at 2400.

in theory yes you can. is it advisable, NO!

They are different modules, with different timings, voltages and possibly chip configuration/manufacturer too. You will have to play with both a lot to try and get them to work together. It's a laborious pain even for those with good knowledge. You would be trying to find the lowest common denominator to get them to work.

My advise is to buy a matched kit at whatever speed you want, and sell what you have to offset the costs.

I agree they 'can work', but it's a headache to get them to try and work. There are too many variables at play, so the best advise is to always buy a matched kit.

No, they won't cause damage. It will just be trial and error to get them to work together. The only way you could cause physical damage is by not putting the dimms in correctly. But that's straight forward enough. Just check the manual to be sure if you are putting in new ones. Normally, there's a little click as it's put in, then you know it should be in place.

Thanks for the help! i'll try to get them to work, i personally don't mind the possible downclock to 2133 mhz.
