Adding ram to current RAM is not a very good idea. If it is the same exact model it is worth trying a shot but it is not guaranteed it will be compatible.

Example:
Model X RAM 2 GB may not work with another Model X RAM 2 GB.

I would recommend you to buy a new set of RAM that are properly tested for each other.
For example: Model X RAM 2x2 GB

but my 2GB on my laptop is not a removal it has one slot only to insert RAM again
