Hi there i bought 2x 4GB Vengeance 2400mhz RAM for my computer Asus M5A97 EVO R2 everything runs fine i went into the bios and put the ram speed to 2400mhz but after checking the asus website for bios updates it states

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

it says the max ram speed is 2133 but mine is at 2400 is it ok to keep it like this i honestly thought my baord was 2400mhz compatible

Thanks

Hi there that makes sense i Updated the BIOS a few months ago although i cannot remember the notes it must have been enabled in one of the updates as the board will down clock any speeds over the specifications :)
