Hi guys,

I just bought DDR2 2gb RAM - now i have 2 sticks with 2gb each, first I had only 3.25 usable memory, then in BIOS I enabled "Memory hole remapping", and that causes system to crash, it's not about OS cause it crashes on W7 and on Linux Ubuntu... When it crashes you see few colors on screen and thats it, like rainbow. And you can't do anything, i changed Memory remapping back on disable...

I don't know what to do. I searched literally everywhere.
Here are my computer informations: http://www.dodaj.rs/f/2B/6O/4S8yzKdC/sys.jpg

Thanks!

Ok, but if i ignore "Memory hole remapping" how should I get full RAM? Currently I can only use 3.25Gb out of 4GB, and thats almost 1gb which i don't wanna lose. I mean, whats the point of buying 2gb of RAM if I can't use it?

The only solution for that problem I found is to turn on Memory remapping... I'm kinda confused now...

It doesn't really matter is it Windows or Linux. When you start your computer there you can see how much memory there is, in my case there is 3200+ (I don't know exact number), also when you check "about your computer" in Linux there is 3.2 GiB, and if you see properties on My Computer in Windows there is: 4GiB (only 3.25 usable).

On the other hand, when I turn on Memory remapping, when you start computer it says: 4096, Linux: 4GiB, Windows: 4GB...

But why? I as far as I know direct memory access has nothing to do with RAM memory limit...

http://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/alivexfire-esata2/
"Supports Dual Channel DDR2 1066/800/667/533 (4 x DIMM slots) non-ECC, un-buffered memory, Max. capacity up to 16GB"

Why would they say this?

Sorry for all those questions, and thanks for your help tho.
