Memory upgrade specifics

I'd like to add some RAM to my year old computer...mainly for fun, because it works well already.
I'm thinking another 2 x 4 gb.

GIGABYTE GV-R777D5-1GD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB
Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz

When I search for new ram at newegg.com, what exactly do I need to look for?

If only for fun then check the link for the RAM, you need find the similar one to the old RAM. (1600MHz cl9 1.5V)

Since your pc is working well, and you do not need more ram, why bother?

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will not support ram that is not bought in one kit.
Although, I think the problem has lessened with the newer Intel chipsets. Still,
it is safer to get what you need in one kit.

Go to a ram web site and access their configurator. Enter your motherboard, and you will get a list of compatible ram kits.

If you have some funds that are burning a hole in your pocket, consider buying a SSD or a second monitor.
