I installed the Memory (Team Xtreme 2 X 8 GB 2400) on my AsRock Z77 Pro 3 motherboard which says "Supports Dual Channel DDR3 2800+(OC)" but the fastest I can get it to is 1800.
The only setting I played with in the BIOS was on the OC page, setting the timing to XMP Profile 1, there was no custom timings on this page, the only options were Auto and XMP Profile 1.
There is a bunch of other pages you can access in the BIOS in the Advanced tab, called North Bridge Config, South Bridge config, Super IO Config, etc., etc. but I don't know what I'm looking for (I've never OC'd or had to set up memory timing before).
Is there something I might be missing? I'm able to OC the Intel Core i5-3330 @3.0 Quad processor to 3.6 (this board OC's non-K CPU's), so I am kinda wondering why I can't get the memory to work at the speed it is rated on a motherboard that says it supports much higher speeds.
(I also even installed a memory fan (2 mini-fans), and all my temperatures are lower than 30 except the CPU.)
