Memtest is not identifying any RAM

I built my PC a couple weeks ago. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tzRVZ8 is the build. I was reading through the owners manual of the mobo and it said if running only one stick of ram, put it in DIMM 2, so I went to switch it and I dropped it. When I put it back in I've numerous problems. Random crashes with a myriad of error codes Sometimes it just won't boot all the way. So I tried to run memtest from a usb. It is not showing that I have any ram now. I have a picture but not sure how to upload it to this forum. The part that is troubling is "RAM: 0 MHz (DDR3- 0) since it is DDR4.

I would say try it in the other slot it used to be in but you seem to not have the best of luck.

It sounds like the ram may have been damaged to be entirely honest.

See if you can borrow a buddies and make sure the slot is good.

I highly recommend if it IS broken that you get new ram. You need to do a 2 stick config at the least. It will bring a fairly good performance increase over single channel. (30-40% load speeds and ~33%fps in games)

I recommend Gskill ripjaw or tridentz as they may have the color you're looking for too.

I'm just not sure about avexir. Their heat spreader is way too big.

I went ahead and ordered some new ram, a 2x4 kit. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Yr7CmG/crucial-memory-bls2k4g4d240fsb going to see if that helps. The only other person I know who has a build is using DDR3.

Ok sounds good. You should see slightly faster load speeds with the dual channel. I think you'll be happy. That's not a bad brand. Crucial has been around for a while.
