Mic isn't working?

Hello all,

My microphone isn't working. It has been detected by my audio software (realtek), But it just isn't recording anything. I am kind of at a loss here, because i've tried lots of things to get it working again, switched input jacks and re-installed the software. I'd really hate it if it's broken, but it doesn't look like it is...

Please help me, I'm just trying to skype with my friends...

From the Sound properties in the Control Panel, tab over to Recording. Do you see your device? Is it checked and marked as the Default Device and Default Communication Device? If you go to that device's properties and tab over to the Listen tab, is the "Listen to this device" box checked?

Yup, everything you said is present and checked. Tested it but still not working...
