Hey all, I've been having issues with the jack on my Genius SW-G2.1 2000 speaker system. The mic jack simply does not work, I have tested the mic itself and it works fine, but not with that jack. Any advice?

I don`t understand what you mean.

For the most part any headset and mic combines setup you have should when plugged in be selected in windows as the default communications device, and not set up as the default audio output device.

You then select of set the levels in the windows sound in put and output levels via right clicking on the windows sound icon for playback level volume from the system and in the recording section select the mic of the headset as the default recording device and the level, sensitivity and gain values.

Your 2.1 speaker setup must also be setup or selected in windows via right clicking on the sound icon, speaker symbol next to the time ect. on playback by right clicking on the device selected as the default communications device select speakers setup. you should have providing you plugged the green and blue ect 2.5mm jacks into the back of the tower a listing for 2.1 stereo sound setup. since you have a left, right and sub or bass driver.

To test if the mic is working. You should have a option to hear what you say selected for the mic set as a default communications device so you can hear it routed through to your head pones, as a test for recording levels.

Depending on how you are connecting the headset and Mic.

Your options are to use the two front playback and mic inputs on the front of your tower if you have them.
And setting the two front jacks in windows as the default communications device.

Or using the cable set that came with the Genius, the blue and green from the back of the tower jack points and the pink one for the mic and connecting them to the back of the genius amp unit.

Then plugging your headset and mic into the two front ports. provided on the amp box.
And setting the default speakers by right clicking to the default communications device in windows.
