Mic Picking Up Mouse Drop

The title might not make sense. What I mean is when I run out of room to move my mouse over the mousepad, I pick my mouse up and move it back across to approximately the middle of the mousepad. When I do this it makes a thump through my Blue Yeti. I've done what I could to fix this without buying a stand/arm, but nothing works well enough to satisfy me. Anyone have any DIY suggestions before I think for a few hours, google it, make some bullshit rig and then have it break?

Alternatively..... depending on your available real estate, increasing your mousing area could help also in that you would lift the mouse, less often.
Did you try the Cardioid mode on the Yeti? It is either picking up omni-directional sound or the vibration of the mouse is being transferred through the mic stand. Try putting a pad of paper in between the mic stand and desktop to reduce vibration transfer.

This could also be something as easy as a sensitivity adjustment on the mic input.

I've had the Yeti for a few years and I've tested it out for some time. It's obviously the vibrations through the stand... I've heard about the paper trick, but I don't think it will work. I'm currently resting the stand on a dictionary and foam padding with good results, but I think it can be better. And yes, I'm in Cardioid mode. I guess I can try the paper trick, but what do you mean? A stack of paper or just a small sheet?

I was thinking more like a legal pad of paper. It is not so much of a trick. You are just trying to dampen the vibration. The foam, especially if it is soft foam, is probably the best option. A well-used, legal pad of paper is likely a close second.
