I found this H81M-PLUS motherboard for almost free, and it comes with a processor. Since i have an old Dell Optiplex 380 case laying around, can i fit the new motherboard in it? The case is micro BTX, and the MOBO is micro ATX.
The motherboard itself should fit however the standoff's might be in different spots and may require some hefty modding to get it to work. If it doesn't fit you can still buy a nice ATX mid tower for like $40.

Besides the motherboard been a different form factor, you will have to deal with the proprietary front panel connectors.
I would get a standard case and avoid the headaches.
Typpically Dell/HP have proprietary hardware that is different from ATX form factor. Since BTX and ATX are different form factors, I highly doubt it will work. You could try it and make use of the return policy should you need to.
