I've had my PC build for almost a month. When I first built it I noticed the thing wouldn't screw in! I have a Gigabyte B85M DS3H mobo and a corsair Spec-02 case. The mobo standoff already came screwed in and the holes aligned , but the screws given don't screw into the case. I decided to leave the mobo attached to the I/O shield along with the GPU attached to the back to support it. But I just bought a new ssd coming in today, so was wondering if there was anything I can do to fix this while opening the case up.

Solution
your motherboard's included screws do not fit into the case's standoffs?
i've never seen that through 50+ cases and 100s of motherboards. you must be doing something incorrectly or the standoffs are just not the correct diameter and someone put them in on accident.

if it's the motherboard's holes that are not aligning with the case's standoffs then you have the wrong size case for your motherboard. ATX, mATX, iATX. make sure they are compatible.

if they are compatible and if you have another case around try it's standoffs until Corsair send replacements. if not, and don't feel like waiting to see if Corsair sends the correct replacements, take your motherboard's screws to a local hardware shop and explain to them that you need fitting...
Oi, I submitted a ticket to corsair and will try it again when I disassemble my PC today. If all fails, is leaving the mobo attached to the I/o Shield bad? Its held up for a month now no problems.

i would not leave the case standing vertically while the motherboard is not attached sufficiently.
