Hello,

I am having this issue in games such as battlefield 4, Crysis 3, World of Warcraft, Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3, the issue is that when i play the games, it will stutter or freeze for 0.5 seconds or a second, i dont know the exact time but it is really short and it happens at random, it is not random for lets say every 10 minutes but more like every 1-5 minutes so it is a frequent random. I have tried disabling SLI and just running with 1 card but the issue still persists, I use fraps to check the fps and it is really good, but when the stutter/freeze occurs, it seems that the fps drops for example on World of Warcraft i was getting 195 frame rates then the stutter/freeze occurs and it says that it drops down to 130-145 frame rates.

The drop ISN'T significant that it would fall down to 20-30 frame rates but it drops when the stutter/freeze occurs. This issue has never happened to me before, but I just noticed is when I got back into Battlefield 4 and from there I tested these other games.

The cards haven't be overclocked and are running at 65-70 degrees when under full load. I have tried turning fraps off too see if that was the cause, but it isn't, I have also tried turning MSI Afterburner off and uninstalling it and it still didn't go away. I have reformatted my computer with a fresh install of windows 7 and it still didn't fix the issue. Please help me sort this issue out, as I have payed all this money and can't even use the graphics cards properly.

My system Specs are:

Intel Core I7 4770k @ 4.4GHZ
16GB Ram 2133mhz
GTX 780 SLI 3GB Vram
1200W Power supply
Asrock Z87 Fatal1ty Killer Motherboard
SSD 250GB
HDD 1TB

Update your BIOS, I have 780's which ran like rubbish. Hung at boot, randomly spiked in games and dev, I had to buy another cheap GFX card then switch the UEFI mode to legacy (In the bios) until they fixed it..!

I have updated my motherboard bios and the issue still persists

EDIT : i have chosen your answer as best answer accidentally, please don't stop commenting i need help

No problem, other things to try:

Update to latest (non-beta) drivers for the 780's:
Make sure adaptive half rate is switched off in the Nvidia control panel.

Ok a bit further, if you're not using a GPT setup make sure you're using legacy mode for UEFI. ONLY if you're having issues with boot up too.. Not exactly sure what the 780's beef is with it, but it causes many a weird and wonderful problem.

Finally mess around with your game settings (post effects mainly), lots of cards have issue in SLI with AFR (Alternate frame rendering), also a bug in the driver which may have not been fixed could be causing a specific issue with a common post processing effect. Which frankly sucks, but it does happen..

I got an issue, i got rid of my other gtx 780 so I am just using one without SLI, but before i did that i had disabled the origin in-game interface during games such as battlefield 4, battlefield 3 and crysis 3 and the 0.5 second/millisecond stutter seems to have been fixed but another issue that i'm having is screen tearing and also the games don't feel like they are running at 60 frame rates.
The frame rate issue where it doesn't feel like 60 frame rates is mostly battlefield 4 and crysis 3 and a little bit in battlefield 3, also far cry 3.

Fixes that i have attempted:
- defrag hard drive
- reformat os
- re-install games
- update BIOS
- Re-roll graphic card drivers
- Put CPU back to normal clock
- Put ram back to normal clock
- try another graphics card (GTX 680 from my friend)
- try without graphics card (intel graphics hd 4600)
- try two different stick of ram Old ones that i had before upgrade last week and new ones after upgrade.
- check temperatures (everything is fine, gpu doesnt go above 70 degrees and cpu doesn't go above 64)

Well screen tearing is due to Vsync, you need to switch it on.. Also disable your LAN / Wireless connection before playing..
