There are several micro cameras available in the U.K. measuring
approx 6 x 4 x 1.5cms and costing between 10 and 20 ukp.
Results are what one would expect at the price - useless.

Is there a simple 'snapshot' camera of similar size, fixed focus,
optical finder and no frills but giving reasonable 6" x 4" prints,
available at a sensible price?

From my knowledge Canon's model (don't know which, though - Ixus micro or
similar) is known as 'the smallest digital camera' - probably they mean
smallest decent camera. Check it out. But i think it's a bit bigger than
above measures...and a bit more expensive, too...

In the U.S. That's a Powershot 100, with several models beyond that, the
latest being a 5MP Elph.

Then there's the Pentax Optio S4, which fits in an Altoids tin--or, more
usefully, a shirt pocket, and the Casio Exlims. Just saw an ad for a
discontinued Polaroid 2MP in the same size range for about $100 at Big
Lots. And in wandering around, I just found this:

$3900?!? Really?

Just got a 3 megapixel digi cam from 'Kwiksave' Supermarket for less than 50
quid 1.5inch lcd and very reasonable results considering the cost.
the body of the camera is about the size of a box of swan vesta matches

its a Medion MD41084

Ideal for leaving in the car incase you've not got your expensive camera and
a good photo opportunity crops up.

comes with case, batteries leads etc and a not half bad mini tripod.
