MicroATX 100% compatible with ATX cases and power supplies?

My friend has a case used for an old AMD Thunderbird 1.3 GHZ system that is now dead. Can we re-use that case which is probably an ATX case (not sure) and install a MicroATX mobo on it?

Im pretty sure that the old case and any MicroATX mobo should be compatible with the Antec 430W NEO HE420 12V ATX power supply right?

A microATX board will fit fine in an ATX case.
Your Antec PSU has a 24pin main connector so it will work fine.

Yes, a microATX board fits in any ATX case.
For the PSU, there are two power plugs on a motherboard. First, a large one. This one can count 20 or 24 pins. The second one is smaller and can have 4 or 8 pins. Check it on your µATX mobo and make sure your PSU has the appropriate plugs.

Most motherboards that require a 8pin secondary plug will run with a 4pin plug. So if your microATX mobo requires a 8pin secondary plug, try using your Antec PSU anyway. (I haven't come across one that didn't boot up.)

Yeah, just make sure you've got the main connector sorted out right.
However, if you're installing a power hungry CPU on it, it is recommended to have a PSU with a 8-pin connector.
