I switched from Amd to intel and being an idiot I am do not have the capability of doing a clean install of windows 10. Can I just a tech worker at Microcenter to be able to fix my Computer and problem. Does anyone have any stories like this.

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank You!

The other fix (and this is only if you can not for any reason do a clean install due to some kind of software you can't reinstall/configure) is get a cheap sata addin card, install it on the AMD machine, install drivers. then move that sata card and hard drive to intel, connect hard drive to the sata card and it should boot. once in windows and all drivers installed you can turn off, remove card, and plug into onboard sata.

If it has windows 10 though honestly I have moved it around from amd to intel, intel to amd, and other intel to intel and amd to amd without issue.

I'm really dumb when it comes to computer software and my paranoia just kicks in when I'm doing things. I don't trust myself at all to fix it..

Its too late, I plan on using the AMD parts for another build I am going to give to a family member.

is there anything on the drive you need or want?? if there nothing you need all you need is a usb stick 8g in size and dowload free microsoft media creation tool. make a new bootable iso and then boot from the usb stick. click on custom install. delete all partion info on the hard drive. then let windows install itself. when it boots for the first time see if windows reactivated. if not you need your windows oem number or call ms for help. if you need data from the drive pick up a usb to hard drive kit. plug the driver into another pc and copy files you need then wipe. micro center has walk in support or used to when i worked at store 121 a few years ago. they may charge you a small fee. or they let you sit there and do the work yourself nut only help you if there not slammed.

well I have two hard drives so I figured when they do the clean install my data on my other hard drive is still there. Is this true?

Yeah I'm just gonna take it up to microcenter in the weekend and have them have a go at it and fix it. I will also take up a just in-case usb Installation media up their to them. I hope everything goes ok and I can get back to having a normal working computer.

with two hard drives check witch one has windows os and if the other is a data drive. when you do the install have the tech take power off the other drive on unplug the sata cable. windows will then see only one drive and less chance of you losing all of your data.

My windows os drive would be my very first drive C: correct? The other is my Z drive that I added a lot later.

Well after testing I figured out that I can boot from both drives so this doesn't make much sense. So which ones should I have them perform the clean install on?
