Hey folks!

Not sure where I was suppose to post this, please feel free to move this post.

So, I record my games using the Raptr app. Through Raptr, I will record the game footage and game volume. I will record my voice using Audacity. I have disabled the recording of my microphone in the Raptr app to obviously stop my voice from being recorded twice. I prefer to use Audacity for my voice since I have seperate tracks for editing etc.

So, the problem is, whenever I try to record my voice via my microphone along with having game sound or any other tye of sound for that matter, the voice recording will start to echo, become distant, and the volume will fluctuate from quiet to normal.

The voice recording does this with every single method of recording. Fraps, Raptr, Audacity.
Whenever there is another sound, while recording my voice, I get this problem.

It's not my headphones being too loud, i've literally, had in-game volume turned on, then turned down the volume of my headphones via the conrtoller on the headset to zero. And still this problem occurs. The only way I get around this, is by completely muting all other sounds in windows except my microphone input. This is so frustrating, I have no idea what is causing it and am hoping someone with knowledge on audio can help me out.

I'm using a Gold Tonor Condenser Microphone.
Turtle beach earforce x12 Headset.
I'm not using a soundcard, just the built in mobo jacks.

Please help! 😀

Turning down input volume for my mic doesn't work. It's usually on 80, I've tried it as low as 20 which is far too quiet but the problem will still persist.

I am 100% certain, that I'm only ever recording my voice with on type of software at a time. I can confirm this as I do edit the audio tracks and know that there is only ever 1 track with my voice, no more.

No matter what other sound is there, it messes up my voice recording, can be anything from ambience from a game or even just background music, literally any other noise. And just to clear it up that I know it's not my headphones being too loud or my mic being too sensitive, remember this.

If, i have game audio while recording, even though i've turned the volume on my headset to zero via the headset controller, leaving no noise coming from the headphones at all, but technically there is still game volume as the game is not muted but I just can't hear it, then my voice audio messes up. (Does this whether i can hear the volume or not)

Same scenario, this time i mute the game volume. Voice audio is now fine. This is what I dont get. (Only time it's fine is whenever i mute all other audio)
