Question Microphone doesnt work in new computer

I built a new computer today and have been installing all the latest drivers for everything including audio drivers, I used the drivers reccomended by for my motherboard.

When I plug a microphone into either the front or back microphone port it screams a deafening robot sound, although I managed to bypass it by using the headset mic but its terrible so I would hate to have to use it.

If anyone can help me or needs more info, that would be great because I am lost.

What motherboard brand and the mic brand. It could be feed back cause its to loud. Have you when into tge sound settings to adjust it?

There was a update at one point that causes issues like this, watch this.

Its an Asus Prime Z390-A, the microphone is an antlion mod mic 5. I changed the driver again and it doesnt make any noise at all now even when changing the levels.

What new driver is used now? There is a new update for the motherboard sound card on the website did you use that driver? Reinstall the old driver after removing the installed now.

What you can try is remove the drivers and let windows 10 install them see if that helps.
