Microphone doesn't work.

A microphone problem that i've just now discovered and i can't seem to fix,the microphone used to work normally,didn't use it for some time and now when i wanted to do a check,it doesn't work,when i add up the boost to 30db there is just static noise but i still can't hear my voice,here is a screenshot on 30db :http://prntscr.com/761dzp and this is one on 0db which it was like before http://prntscr.com/761ipa, no matter how much i scream or talk into the mic,the green bar never moves,no matter what,seeing as it does move atleast a little bit when i add it up to a 30db boost,im guessing the microphone is not broken and it's more of a computer issue?
Does anyone know how to fix this? 🙁 I made multiple tests with the sound record application but it's always the same,a bunch of static on 30db,a bunch of nothing on 0db.

Try another microphone - to see if your's is dead.
