Solution

it says that its the defualt device but when im playing music on youtube it doesnt pickup my voice it picks up the music, so the bar goes up pertaining to the song

in the recording selection theirs 3 options: microphone(default device), microphone (not plugged in) and line In (not plugged in)

on top of that when my volume is on theirs a repeated static noise.

If you have 3 items listed, try using each one in turn, with the other 2 disabled, and see if any one of them works best for you. Then keep the one that works for you as default, and leave the other 2 enabled or disabled as you see fit.

If no combination works properly, you will need to see if you can install a 4th recording device that does work.

i cannot use the other 2 since it says that its not plugged in and i also dont know how to add a 4th recording device?

What are the 3 devices listed?

microphone(default device), microphone (not plugged in) and line In (not plugged in)

High Definition audio device; NVIDIA High definition audio; NVIDIA Virtual Audio device (wave extensible) (WDM).
Strange, I dont see anything about a mic?

but in audio inputs and outputs i see speakers and microphone

You never mentioned in your original post what model your motherboard is. That will tell us what on-board audio chip you have.

In my "Sound, video and game controllers", i have NVIDIA High definition audio [for my Nvidia video card], VIA HD Audio [for the VIA audio chip on my motherboard] and Bluetooth Hands-free Audio [for an Asus Bluetooth USB Adapter i have plugged into my motherboard].

In your Sound, video and game controllers, we should see the audio controller for your on-board audio chip, but for some reason it's not there, unless your on-board audio is by Nvidia. I'm not sure.

My motherboard is a Z270 krait gaming. Ive done some research on it and this is the only thing i could find (Audio Boost 4 with Nahimic 2)
my sound was working fine without the mic its only when i got the splitter cable it started having static noises
i found a driver for my audio chip ill try download it and see if that does anything.

Your MSI Z270 KRAIT GAMING motherboard uses a "Realtek ALC1220 audio chip" built onto the board. "Audio Boost 4 with Nahimic 2" is an built in amplifier using audio-grade capacitors to amplify the audio signal put out by the ALC1220 audio chip.

That means In your "Sound, video and game controllers", you should see the Realtek ALC1220 audio listed.

Here is a thread in the MSI forum about ALC1220 Sound Issues: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=281239.0

This could help but i cannot locate the driver for the ALC1220 from realtek could you possibly help me find it?

Click the link below for the MSI Z270 KRAIT GAMING support page. Under the "Driver" tab select your version of Windows and then select "+ On-Board Audio Drivers" and download the latest "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver". When you have the RAR file on your computer, extract the folder and run "setup.exe". That should guide you through the installation process.

While your at the driver download page you might as well download the other driver updates, especially the "Intel Chipset Driver".

This helped with my audio problem but my mic is still not working and if i call a friend they can only here their voice repeated instead of mine

Now that you have the Realtek driver installed go back to "Control Panel > Sound" and go to the "Recording" tab again and test each device you see. Are there any new devices listed, and are they "Enabled"?

Yes, there is a new device a called stereo mix which says ''ready'' on it but my microphone is still only picking up my headphones output. I tried using the different options which are ''Microphone'' and ''Stereo mix'' but no success.

If you look at all the devices in the "Recording" tab, there should be 1 with a green check mark on it, as the "Default Device". Try right clicking that device and choosing "Disable". Now "Enable" Microphone, right click and choose "Properties". You should now see many more tabs to choose from. [General - Listen - Levels - Enhancements - Advanced]. Under General "Device usage" you should see "Enable". Now go through each tab and configure this Device the way you want it set up. You can do the same with all the other Devices listed in the "Recording" tab.
