Greetings,
This has been a problem since I first built my computer, around 5 months ago, but I never got to publish it as a question. The problem is that my headset microphone is recognized by Realtek and Windows but only picks up system sounds, sounds from games and such... I tried reinstalling, installing and updating drivers, checked, possibly, every setting that involves sound and/or microphone specifically, but it's no use. I have tested two microphones, an old one and a newly bought one, none work. I have tried plugging the cord everywhere it fits on, still nothing. Haven't tried the new microphone on another computer, although I think it will work.
Additional information: As far as I remember, on my old PC, I had the same headset I use now and it worked perfectly fine. When we built the new PC, we bought the same headset again because the other one broke, but it doesn't work now.

My headset: Crypto Headset HS200 Black/White
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A68M-HD+

If I get a USB Headset, will I have any problem? Providing, there's no solution to my problem of course.

Windows 10?

First right click the small speaker icon - most likely in the lower right sreen corner. Go into "Recording devices" and take a look at all the various tabs, properties, and configuration settings. You may need to make or redo some configuration setting. (You seem to have already done that to some extent. Just not sure how far down you may have gone....)

Second, if Windows 10, press the WIN + I keys and take a look at the Gaming, Game bar settings.

You may find something amiss there - a variety of settings related to audio activities.
