[citation][nom]jaber2[/nom]No thanks, will wait for your fixes on Windows 9 SP2[/citation]

why not blindly wait for Windows 10 while your at it

You do know Vista, 7 and now 8 are NT6 based? 8 is more like Vista SP4 go figure Ha!

[citation][nom]tisimp[/nom]I have been using Windows 8 since the Consumer preview came out and I think it is a whole lot better than Windows 7. I kept a PC with Windows 7 around in case I would need it and have never had the need. It is well worth the $40 to upgrade. I love the Metro screens and I don't know why most people in this forum are so anti Microsoft.[/citation]

I agree 99% of people have NEVER tried 8 and hate it for no reason, its XP and Vista all over again (XP is included for those who dont remember or arent old enough to remember the hordes or people who wouldnt touch it at first because it was "too heavy" and "full of bugs" or whatever other BS excuse)

Does anyone realize the logic - why have icons on the desktop AND in the start menu that are both the same but in two different places? Why not merge the 2 together -- METRO fixes this and makes everything so much better.

[citation][nom]CaedenV[/nom]...win8 is a much better desktop platform than win7... better multi-screen support.[/citation]
That's very odd way to say "no multi-screen support"

I know its so funny. They complain that its harder to use and inefficient...Windows 8 is far more efficient and its faster too.

Who the hell actually goes Start->Programs->Name of Program -> *.exe anymore?? seriously? get with the times oldie. I have been using the taskbar since Windows XP for my apps. Either that or the desktop shortcuts. Windows 8 makes it sexier and even better. You have a huge screen where you can put all your fave apps and voila, just a click away from the app.

And its faster on the sleep/hibernate/reboot/shutdowns than any other OS. I use it on my Ultrabook, so I know what I am talking about. It takes some time to get used to, but man is it nice and convenient. I like the new style very much. I think once these people actually get it on their PC's and start playing with it, they'll come to terms & love it. Stop following the heard! lol

Okay, I just about had it with defending Windows 8 from you guys.

What makes you think Windows 9 wont feature Metro? Microsoft doesn't give a rat's ass if less then 1 percent of the PC market (us enthusiasts) opt out. Microsoft will still be making serious bank anyway from OEM agreements to install Windows 8 on their computers.

Can't boot straight to desktop? Boo hoo. If you guys can muster up thousands of dollars to then spend hours setting up a monster rig, you can spend a second of your life pressing a button to go to the start screen.

Windows 8 is difficult and hard to navigate? Are you high? Windows 8, Metro rather, is one of the easiest things to navigate with. But, if you think a big box is harder to click than an icon the size of a square inch, you might want to get examined.

For Pete's sake, if you claim Windows 7 is perfect, then why bother whining about something you wont even bother to buy, let alone test out for free? The hate that you people spew is just so asinine.

Are you really that stupid??? Since when did they remove multi-screen support from windows 8? Oh, that's right, they didn't. You just have no idea what you are spouting FUD about. Please stop trying to ruin this version of Windows because you don't like Microsoft. If you don't like it, fine, but STOP LYING, and stop spreading FUD.
