[citation][nom]blueeyesm[/nom]It'd be interesting to see Windows on a SoC, independent of a HDD. Having the OS interact with storage that's faster than a ATA or SSD should be interesting to say the least.[/citation]
SoC doesn't mean no external storage is being used. What exactly do you think is better suited than high speed flash devices with fancy pants controllers (an SSD) to store Win8 and your programs?

Don't count on it, the ARM and x86 versions of windows will be completely different markets unless arm pulls something out with its new cortex-A15 and 64bit architecture.

[citation][nom]Restatement3dofTed[/nom]Since you decided to be a dick, your "fix" isn't even accurate - Jane's sentence was correct as written. The first usage of "was" is (arguably) accurate, as the subject in that case, "a ton of rumors," is singular, even though there are multiple rumors ("a ton" is a collective noun, which takes a singular verb even though it automatically suggests a group). In the second instance, however, the subject ("not all of them" - i.e., the rumors themselves) is plural.[/citation]
Can you stay on topic with the information? The biggest thing was how you didn't mention anything about ARM in your post.

Although the ARM processors are low, they've already mentioned mini netbook/laptop processors that will be both dual/quad cores @2.5GHz+. We still don't see many laptops with over 2.1GHz so we could see ARM being able to make extremely low watt CPUs with high clockrates.

Is it just me or did they spell the guys name wrong... twice. Isn't it Sinofsky not Sofinsky or Sofinksy?

Hmmm weird he didn't say if Nvidia ARM can run natively on Win without recompiling. I doubt that though, from the looks of it only Intel might have x86 patents (to make it native) so probably only they can do it...

Windows on ARM isn`t any good unless it runs well. Doing a complete carbon copy port will make it a huge mess I think. They really need to slim it down so that it`ll even stand a chance against *nix

They might get Windows to run on ARM but I'd doubt that most Windows games will work.
