I had this issue with google chrome as well after I downloaded the wrong thing by accident but I can't figure out how to remove it on microsoft edge. When I use edge and search, I see different addresses appear quickly before the yahoo search appears:

I use google chrome and I don't think I ever messed with microsoft edge's settings. I thought it was supposed to go to bing but it goes to yahoo when typing in the address bar. It was doing that in google chrome as well even though I had it set to google for searches. I ran a malware scan yesterday with malwarebytes and had 2 threats that were quarantined and deleted. I ran another scan with it and with some microsoft program and found no threats but still had the problem in chrome. I fixed it by deleting extensions and 2 other things in settings but I can't find them in edge. I haven't done a scan today.

EDIT: In the settings it says "
Search engine used in the address bar.
Bing (Recommended, default)" but it goes to yahoo.

I'm running a malware scan now, still waiting on results.

I think I found what I need to delete; I'll see if getting rid of all of these will fix the problem like it did in chrome:

Malwarebytes said no threats detected. I deleted all of the ones that it allowed me to delete and now the search goes to bing and I don't see any other websites quickly appear before it gets to the bing search. I guess that means the problem is solved. Thanks.
