It might be another step in the right direction towards supporting standards. However it's a bummer even IE10 isn't supporting major parts of HTML5 and related technologies.

IE 10 is nice, but as long as people are shackled to windows xp/ie8 your average web dev company won't be able to use a lot of the new HTML 5 features available. Hopefully in the future MS will be better at keeping its users up to date with its web browsers.

The shackling is due to corporate software still not updated since IE 6. Until these million dollar web based applications have been discontinued/ replaced / updated, net standards will have an anchor around their neck holding progress back. We need economic recovery for that, getting Barack back is a step in the right direction.

Well, it works with Windows 7 at least. Not that I use IE all the time, but it's nice to get an upgrade.

Great if they use a "frameless" windows without menu etc I can see our customers crying. There is this feature called the F11 key that do the same thing. Do you think if you put that to full screen they will be able to find the menu.

When IE 7 came out a lot of peoples had a hard time because the menu was off screen until you press the alt key.

By all mean it's better but you need to take that into account when a good portion of your customer are not the finesse/skillful of peoples.:|

Windows 8 is not that complicate but there is people struggling with thing like clipping, hidden menu(like IE 7) etc..

Bottom line they should not make it that way by default. At least they should give the choice at the beginning, classic and new style.

This is all very good, innovation is cool, but I shall be staying with Firefox. At least they havn't forgotten about windows 7 or worse withholding features from it to try and get us to upgrade to windows 8.

I am currently creating a web service at work and I have to take into account the IE sucks and is the dullest blade in the drawer.

No one fully supports HTML5 yet, that is because HTML5 is still under development as a standard, various browsers have implements various parts of the drafts but it is still a constantly changing target.

I'm glad to see this comment section, while not being filled with postive aspects of IE10, isn't filled with

IE SUX LOL FIREFOX FOREVR, and is at least filled with legitimate, semi-intelligent posings of why it isn't liked. . . Even if all those gripes are "WTF EVERYTHING ISN'T HTML5"

I have used IE 10 on Windows 8 quite a bit and I was surprised at how fast it is, even faster than freaking Chrome! And that is impressive. But I still stayed with Mozilla due to the Add-ons and the bookmark search bar which is a must for me. Sadly, I have been disgusted with Firefox's stability on flash applications, videos and overall browser performance for the last couple of years and If it weren't for all the add-ons Firefox will go down the drain faster than water.

Historically IE has been a unmitigated disaster for web developers...

we'll see if IE 10 is any different.
An educated guess based on the sum total of Microsoft's IE would indicate that nobody should get their hopes up.

IE10 is a great, especially when you know it's going to be adopted world-wide in companies and school, making our life so much easier, with faster speed and better standards.

IE10 is quite nice on Windows 8, but there still seem to be rough edges here and there. Nothing not resolvable with a few updates.

They look exactly the same on my PC, not complaining at all.
