Microsoft Office 2018 on Unactivated Windows.

I've been using free version of Windows for a while now and I am satisfied with it. If I were to purchase Office 2018 at my local computer store (in a form of product key), would it work or would it somehow recognize, that I did not pay for my copy of Windows?
Any help greatly appreciated

1. There is no "MS Office 2018". There is currently Office 2016, Office365, and in a month or so, Office 2019.

2. Unactivated Windows 10 makes no difference. Assuming that what you buy is an actual valid Office suite, it will work.
