"Let go of the past!" hardball.

From a company still using the 3.5" disk icon as the save button across their systems and products...

(Also DOS and most existing Windows versions (3.1 thru 10) are likely to remain in regular use for at least the next century, despite MS' best efforts to make them go away.)

Sitting three feet from me is a Win98SE on an AMD K6-2+ 450 system.

I would highly recommend, https://atlasos.net/ for older PC's. It's a stripped down version of W10.

Some should also consider moving or at least trying linux - as you can do pretty much the same but more faster, better then Windows. For emulating of windows apps or games you have wine.

MS is creating a eco system apart from telemetry with MS only products. I don't want that.

I've moved to Ubuntu and don't have any reason to think about it again. Computer is running perfectly. The games I play casually all work perfectly well too. I don't know why everyone doesn't go this way - Linux has changed and is a lot more accessible.

From the article:
"Windows 11 CPU compatibility begins from Intel 10th-gen"

From MS:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/w...pported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors
"Intel® Core™ i3-8100"

Fact checking....
I7-7800X and 2 other 7xxx are also accepted.

More seriously, the cpu whitelist is a bigger issue than TPM, secureboot, ram or popcnt.
My cpu (i7-6700hq) passes every requirement except the whitelist, and only thorough checking in multiple microsoft articles told me i was missing Virtualization-Based Security, a feature used only for hyper-v, which is unavailable on home edition, which is what i have...
