[citation][nom]pocketdrummer[/nom]Yeah, this needs to stop as well. Not all of us are 5 or 80 years old. We know updates are important, but sometimes getting work done on time is more important. Let us delay it indefinitely if we choose.[/citation]
At least Vista and up let you delay it for 4 hours. (that's the option I always use) How about they put in an option like "I'll restart when I'm damn well ready"? If they had that, I would definitely use it. 😀

Richie Gervais quoted this, but I am too lazy to find the source

"Skill is a poor man's treasure"

With so many companies patenting trivial algorithms, soon poor men won't even have their skills, because they will owe some company a license fee for what they created.

Vincent: Well you gotta have an opinion. I mean do you think that God came down from Heaven and stopped the...
BANG!!!
Vincent: Whoa! Man shit!
Jules: What the fuck's happening, man? Ah, shit man!
Vincent: Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face.
Jules: Why the fuck did you do that!
Vincent: Well, I didn't mean to do it, it was an accident

M$ is patenting something that many distros of Linux have been doing for more than a decade and it is a feature that Windows should have had back with XP and all succeeding editions of Windows (maybe in a service pack, but at some point)?

[citation][nom]dreadlokz[/nom]who cares? I NEVER restart after my updates -.-'''[/citation]

Do you not use Windows? If you do, then the PC isn't updated until you restart, it just has the update process started and can't finish until you restart. Basically, by not restarting, you didn't even update it.

and often it will bug you every few minutes asink if you want to restart now...

Ah yes, and don't you love the applications who install an update and then reboot; without even asking...thus trashing any open documents, photoshop edits etc.

For Windows Vista and newer, there is an option to tell it to not bother you for 4 hours when it pops up. Also, I have no programs that restart my computer without asking. Would you list a few?
