This is a cool idea and I would love to get one if I could find more uses for it at home. I can see it as a RPG/RTS table top game but the other features I really don't know.

What is the purpose of having this in your home? What will it do? Sure you can play some "board games" on it or something like that but I really don't see the draw to it being a must have product. Its not like a DVD player, or big screen TV, something that is "needed" in every living room. Will it be basically a big built in iPad for your living room? Who cares.

What about Seafarers and Cities and Knights and can you build custom boards? I'm probably getting a little ahead of myself. Anyway, it's a cool interface, I just hope Microsoft can bring it to market. I would definitely buy one, especially if you could digitize your old board games.

Bah, agricola and puerto rico >> catan. I will admit, however, that catan is far, far easier to teach to new players.

Maybe alone, but have you ever tried the epic six box, six player Seafarers and Cities and Knights combo?
