[citation][nom]proud_surface_owner[/nom]Tablet + Crappy Keyboard = Netbook with touchscreenThe kickstand really puts it over the top, which basically makes it unusable on your lap, so all of the inconvenience of having to sit at a desk to use it as if it were a desktop PC with the tiny netbook keyboard and screen. Then there's the various software issues of Windows 8, which of course will be fixed in the next few service packs released between now and 2015.[/citation]
Of course a netbook can't be removed from the keyboard and used as a stand alone tablet.

even if its below the price of android tablet , i won't buy it because x86 softwares are not compatible with this win8 rt, its useless to most of the desktop and previous laptop owners who are due for replacement and new buyers, first of you can't connect printers, its just for content oth offline and internet which is its target and not productivity that it targets, imagine you have to transfer to the x86 system your documents and data before you can print it for your work or studies, wait for the true x86 model or if you want one now, get the asus vivobooks either celeron cheapest to i3 up to i5 models

I have been using surface RT for the past month, all i can say is it's good but not perfect. First thing about the good is the hardware, it is awesome. Second is the desktop and productivity, it just wows people when they see me able to go desktop on such a small device.

But then the bad thing is that all the apps r mostly terrible. The xbox music is slow and buggy, all my zune subscribed musics (DRM protected) can't be played for weird reasons until i have to fix it in the registry. The microsoft store is terribly slow, i spent 30 minutes trying to setup my payment method when it just keeps round loading circle, then i gave up and restarted my surface to have it working. It shows 5 apps need updating but when clicked loading again. Have to restart for it to work. Now for games, it sometimes just crashes and can never relaunch until i restart the surface. All i do with this device is RESTART RESTART RESTART RESTART.

Also, my charger died on me the other day. I did the service order but 2 weeks without news. So i complained and got it few days later. It might be a mismanagement or something but they sent two chargers instead.

All in all, its a great device, i love it. Get it if you dont have a tablet. But i dont think i can recommend it until they fix all the crashing and sluggish issues which are ANNOYING!

"first of all you can´t conect printers" what nonsense is this? of course you can, maybe you are confusing the surface with an ipad. You can connect pretty much anything (except for most 3g dongles) and it works briliantly. What kind of idiot would say that you would not buy a TABLET because it can´t run x86 programs? Does any android tablet or ipad do that? Surface RT is obviously not meant to replace a laptop, that is what surface Pro is for. Nonetheless its still a great tablet for productivity with full version of Office, file management and usb port with compatibility with hundreds of devices

hey have you been having the same issues after last tuesday´s round of patches and updates?

Seriously these analysts are getting more ridiculous by the day. To Compare the surface to a playbook is just stupid on so many levels. First of all the playbook had absolutely nothing going for it. Surface is the first ever tablet with real productivity ability, not to mention best overall hardware including built in quickstand and best keyboards. Furthermore the Microsoft store will grow very fast since Windows 8 will soon be used by hundreds of millions of people, something that no one else but Microsoft can acomplish. Surface will sell a lot, it just has to become more known and more available to people and as soon as the most importante apps are available it will be a sure hit. No need to drop any price.
