The scary thing is while everyone scoffs and hates this now, in 10 years it will be acceptable. Freedom getting sucked down the drain little by little as we "advance" through the tech world.

I like passwords. When your computer dies and you haven't backed up everything, you can still use your password. Can't really have that kind of peace of mind with keychain apps of any kind without them using cloud storage, which is an obvious security flaw. Make a password nice and long, use l33t, spelling mistakes and languages other than English to your advantage, and chances of it getting cracked are slim.

I would like to point out how easy it would be to steal your identity if you had to share your fingerprints and iris scans online. Also how easy it would be to send someone else's iris/fingerprint scans by using software that pretends to be the device. Oh I have a list of identities.. *I pick from the list.* Today I think I want to be Jgriff.. or myabe de5_Roy...

Joseph Crowell, you are spot on, there is a huge flaw in using retina/dna/fingerprints too, if some one cracks your password you can always change it - good luck changing your DNA if someone gets that

Unless, someone cut off your finger,, ,,lol
I love how everyone has a different opinion about the article, from my opinion I always liked the idea of eye scanning to get access to places, instead of an ID, I think it will be awesome!!.
But as written by some of the other comments, still it would not be enough to prevent, identity theft, because as stated before "people will always find a way around" that is what history has showed us, also the idea of a microchip ,, sounds somewhat scary, just the idea of being labeled by a chip sounds crazy. Guess time will tell, either way what i DO KNOW is that nothing stays the same, just a matter of waiting,,

fingerprint - oh no, i cut my fingers (more likely) burnt my fingers. also has the downside of getting fingers stolen during a robbery .
iris scanners - my eyes get progressively worse every year, does this scanner see past how crap my eyes are and how they change? also wouldnt want to lose an eye in a robbery
voice - oh no i have a cold, cant do anything for about 2 weeks.
facial recognition - someone punched me, now i cant get in my home

yea, username and password for life.
