[citation][nom]mykem[/nom]The rapist cost of their computers is dishonest. The anti-competition clause that states that their OS can only be run on an Apple-made computer is dishonest. Their censoring of dissident comments on their web site is dishonest and unethical. Their singling out Adobe and shutting out Flash is dishonest. Their marketing giving the image that they own more than 4% of the market is dishonest. The perceived security of their OS is dishonest. The treatment of their employees at home and outsourced (Foxconn) is unethical. Steve Dowling is drinking some serious denial kool-aid, much like the typical Apple customer.[/citation]

Now THAT was a string of stupid statements. Bravo! Oh, you were serious?

You do know they don't actually replace the battery, right?

[citation][nom]PepiX[/nom]This sounds like 'If they catch him getting bribes.. just fire him.. why should they arrest him?'Dude, think twice before talking BS.. having the right to decide your price doesn't mean it it ethical.. neither are the rest of the things mentioned in the comments following this article..[/citation]

So, what your implying then is that all laptops that have the same components should be priced equally...paying zero attention to anything beyond a giant hunk of plastic and electronics? A ford fusion and a Mini Cooper should be priced the same, right?

The problem is that you're under the impression that people don't know what they are buying with a Mac...ironically, it's the exact opposite, YOU don't know what those people are buying aside from some numbers and a newegg search. The rest of the world is just stupid and lacks common sense, you can't possibly be missing something, right?

The issue with Apple is that, like all other companies, esp those from the US of A (only because they the most advanced capitalist economy which equals being enslaved by shareholder's expectations) is that the ONLY thing they are chasing is the almighty dollar. If it earned them a dollar they'd sell anything else. And before someone tries to say they have some sort of 'heart' for banning porn, they really just want to make sure their product gets into every little hand on the planet, so they can be the next govt sanctioned drug of choice (like alcohol is and tobacco was).

The bigger issue is that the people who buy them are buying an 'idea'. The problem with ideas is that they aren't tangible. It's like the people that buy a hot car becasue they want a girlfriend. Or people that constantly buy new clothes because they're never satisfied with how they look. People are looking for something to fill their void, rather than because they know what they need to do a job. In fact it's not really for work, it's for play. there's no killer productivity or business app on either the Iphone or Ipod. It's just toy. I guess this means we shouldn't be complaining when people pay too much for it, but does that mean a hooker should cost $10000 when you can get a perfectly good one for $500? What I'm saying is that we're all complaining about a rich hooker making dumb buyers poor... even when it's not us.

[citation][nom]Article[/nom]zero-tolerance policy for dishonest business practices.[/citation]
But that's the core philosophy behind Apple as a company? how can a company that thrives on deceiving its customers not accept being deceived?

Theres a ton of alternative MP3 solutions out there. Unfortunately you picked the crapple one...

"Apple is committed to the highest ethical standards in the way we do business," Apple's Steve Dowling said. "We have zero tolerance for dishonest behavior inside or outside the company."

Yet Steve Jobs is there claiming that you are holding it wrong, the iPhone is perfect......

Yea....
