Ok. I am just starting to research this and I was
wondering if someone has any info reguarding going through
this process. An organization currently has Lucent
VitalQIP running their DNS. I am looking to move them to
Microsoft's DNS and get rid of the LucentQIP DNS. Has
anyone gone through this process and have any
recommendations? Thanks.

Well ... I'm no lucent expert, but the usual procedure is to
change the current (lucent) DNS configuration to allow
zone transfers for its zones, next you'll need to create
secondary zones on the windows DNS pointing to the
lucent DNS as master, this way the zone data will be
transferred to the windows DNS, at this point you will
just need to change each zone on the windows DNS
from secondary to primary; btw if you have a whole lot
of zones you may use the "dnscmd" tool and a script
to perform the whole operation
