Anyone had any luck with these? Mine is a 15 mind/emp controller and I
nearly deleted him last night because I didn't see much advantage to the
mind control.

I'm pretty excited about the solo possibilities of a ill/storm controller
now. Anyone have any ideas about that?

Hmm. You named a MIND CONTROLLER "Proctologist"? I'm sorry, but that sounds
really... really... head up... you know...

Perhaps the location is distorting his mind rays?

:)

Ghu knows there's no shortage of that in the game. "Stay with it, kid,
you're needed!"

He has quite an interesting background story. His battle cry is "I'll be
right behind you!"

I have a lower level (7) mind/empathy controller and she rocks solo.

She can engage 4-6 minions at her level in a street brawl and beat them all.
The only requirements are the time and end it takes to do it. And an
occasional self-heal.

Ah, made me think of this old bit from "Tunnel Vision".

The camera pans accross five hairy, naked butts, bent over a
table. Then a man in a labcoat enters the frame, puts his hand on
one of them, and says: "Does this look good to you? If so, you
may have what it takes to be a proctologist."

Mind is a hard one to play.. NO question.

Is there a point to keep going.. dunno.. depends on play style. I
feel that CoH really need to look at XP caused by mind altering. Make
it less.. but don't make it NO xp. That annoys the heck out of me.
When in groups and peole do not want you to use half your power..
thats very very lame.

Illision is a blast. Take a look at Ill/Rad. I think that makes a
TOP notch high end toon.

Illusion bubble is also fun.

I play a MC, level 41 at this time. Their might be one or two others
AT's that are harder but I can not think of them now. One of the big
advantages of a MC is that you can lock down with out ever taking
agroe. They also have TeleKinesis, that is a cone toggle mag 3 hold
that pushes everything away. As long as you have endurance you can
hold many bad guys and also use your other powers.

If you don't like him at 15 then you should stop now. Most groups
will not need or want you.

The XP penalty is misguided, because they created it for
conceptual reasons, not balance reasons.

Fire/Rad is awesome, too.

I have one of those. Teams love us!

I played several types before I tried my mind\empathy controller, and
it's become my favorite. Team play is great, because as a healer I
can team with higher level heroes and rarely aggro if I'm healing vs
attacking. I can get great XP that way. On solo, obviously my hit
points aren't as high, but I can take on much bigger groups (I've
slept a group of about 20 guys). So as long as you pick powers with
solo play as well as team play, they are an awesome character. They
also seem to be fairly in demand; I rarely have problems finding
teams, TFs, etc.
