I would like my nine year old son to do make mods for minecraft during our summer break. I have already purchased a program from youth digital for his summer activity and now I would like to know which computer would be better for his gaming. I don't know much about computers. I found a few computers on Craigslist:

Patriot 1333 DDR 3 RAM 16Gigs
AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz.
EVGA GTX 460
650watt Antec power supply.
Antec Gaming case with fan control.
MSI 970A MotherBoard

AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master DK9-7E52A-0L-GP CPU Cooler
JA76MG2 Micro ATX AM3 Motherboard
NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1333 Memory
Western Digital RE3 250GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card
$270

AeroCool ExtremEngine 3T
GIGABYTE GA-8VM800M-775 Motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 2.53Ghz (Over Clocked At 2.66Ghz Can Go To 3.1Ghz)
2Gb (2x1) DDR HyperX Ram

Solution
I wouldn't go with the third. Both the first and second will play the game quite easily. The second option doesn't come with a power supply? If not, go with the first IMO. The FX 6300 is a good processor for what you want and the gtx 460 is more than enough.
