Minecraft Chunk Stutter [Help]

When playing Minecraft when I move around my fps goes down from 200 to 50 sometimes, it's really noticeable and I don't want to install optifine. Is there any way I can perhaps overclock... add more ram to Minecraft etc?

Minecraft can't run at 200 FPS unless you edit core settings.
Also what is so bad about 50 FPS? That is a good frame rate and you shouldn't notice any lag on it?

No it's when it drops it freezes and what are these "core settings" ?

That's a good point, I've not been on my PC for 6 months. I aren't sure if they've done it automatically but I will try and update them all now.

Yes they are all up to date.

Try reinstalling Minecraft and make sure you are using the most up to date version

I'm using 1.7.5 with optifine and it is working much better but is there any way to smoothen out them chunks so that it doesn't freeze
