When I play Minecraft, it doesn't matter if the settings are maxed out or the lowest it can go, the FPS is stuck on 30. I'd like to know a way that I can solve this problem and make the FPS go past 30. By the way, I do not have VSYNC on and my all my drivers are up to date. How can I solve this problem? All advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

System Specs:
Processor- Intel Pentium D 920 2.8GHz
Graphics Card- Asus HD 7770 2gb
Ram- 4gb 1066mhz
Hardrive- 5400 RPM 320gb Hardrive

Perhaps it is a temperature issue? Do you know the ambient temperature the room you're playing in? If your CPU/GPU gets too hot they slow things down so they don't fry themselves. Try checkin' that with HWMonitor. Download's on the right side of the page.

I don't think its that. The temperature of NY computer is around 40° celcius.

Downloading optifine and disabling vsync hasn't solved the problem. I guess I'll listen to tcb1005 and just upgrade my processor to a Intel core 2 quad q8400. Thanks for all your help.

That does help, that fixed the frame lock, and i have the intel core i7, 32GB RAM, and the Nvidia GeForce 1070. The framerate lock may be a combonation of the two.
