Minecraft mods - can laptop run it?

Hey everyone, I’m helping a friend look into some Minecraft mods, and I was wondering if I should even bother with trying to install them because the computer is so weak. She has a Lenovo Yoga 920, 16 gigs of RAM and an i7-8550U. My main concern was the internal graphics, as it’s very bad. Would anyone know if mods are more CPU intensive than I think, and would multiple going at once slow things down?

Solution
Minecraft itself is a CPU focused game. You should be able to run multiple mods but yes it will slow down the performance for every mod but sometimes its not a big difference. The CPU should handle most mods.

Thanks for the help!

Also I’ve heard that Minecraft is being translated from Java into another language that does eat CPU from Java Edition to Windows 10 edition, would you know anything of that?
