Minecraft Running Slowly on a New Graphics Card

Hey Guys,

I'm very surprised that I've been only getting 30-60fps on Minecraft with a Radeon R7 370. This card is new and the drivers are up to date with Crimson, so what is going on?

P.S. With shader packs, I get around 21 fps with SEUS. This is very weird...
Also, I do have the frame rate cap at unlimited.

What CPU are you using?

Minecraft is much more CPU dependent than GPU. It can actually run fairly decent with most newer integrated GPUs for example. Mods and addons only intensify the CPU and memory usage.

Do you have any way to see what clock speed your GPU is running at? There's a chance that it doesn't even realize Minecraft is a 3D game, and it's using it's really low 2D clocks. You may have to use something like MSI Afterburner to force 3D clock speeds for Minecraft.

It should be close to 1000 Mhz depending where your manufacturer set it. 2D clocks are usually around 300 Mhz.

When I run Minecraft the core clock is around 1050 Mhz though :L

Maybe its a mod or texture pack slowing it down
