Minecraft server for both pc and android

My friend plays Minecraft with his mojang I'd, on his pc and has asked me to do the same, now I want to know if I download Minecraft on android, will it be good enough?, Can I connect to the server created by him, i.e, can I play on the same server on android made on a PC,?, Help me out guys,,

You can't play Minecraft cross-platform between the original Java version and any other version. If you want to play cross-platform he has to use the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft (only available on the Windows 10 Store). So unless he is running Windows 10, you can't play together. Either he needs to have Windows 10, or you need to buy the original Minecraft Java version (which honestly, is significantly better than the other versions).

The people who bought Minecraft Java can only play with other people who bought Minecraft Java. Cross platform is only possible between Windows 10, mobile, and console versions. You have to buy the Java version to be able to play with him, unless he is willing to buy a console or mobile version.
