Minecraft - When I fullscreen the game I get massive lag

Hello, I just got an Asus VG248 Monitor and ever since, whenever I press F11 to fullscreen Minecraft, it stops responding and my whole computer lags for around 10 seconds. I'd love any suggestions about how to fix this, I'm pretty sure it's my monitor but it could also be just about anything else.

The monitor itself is completely passive to the PC performance. I would guess that you have a lot of programs running in the background. You can check the task manager to determine how much of your processor and memory is being used.

My GPU Is a r9 390, i5 6500 skylake. Barely any programs are running. I think it's due to me having a duel monitor since this happen ever since i got another monitor.

An easy check is to shut down, unhook the other monitor then startup.

If Minecraft is fine, then yes it's related to the second monitor so we can troubleshoot from there. Probably the MINECRAFT FORUM is a better place for this issue.

*BUT IN GENERAL lag/stutter issues with multiple monitors often involve them having different REFRESH RATES. Not sure if that's fixable aside from setting one monitor to the same refresh as the other.

The PC produces a signal for the monitors. The monitors themselves have there own internal power supply. That means that the performance of the PC is the same whether a monitor is connected or not.

If the PC slows when you make a change on the screen, it is due to a lack of resources in the system. That is usually either high usage of the CPU or Memory.

You can go to the task manager and then under the startup menu. Look down the list for programs that have high impact on startup. If the program isn't used often, high light it and select disable. This doesn't mean that you can't use the program. It just takes a few seconds longer to load. Then repeat down the list.

Another item that is often missed is virtual memory. This uses a small amount of drive space as memory. It helps greatly when a system slows down as you described.

Virtual memory in Win 10 is a bit buried. It is under System>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Performance>Settings> Virtual Memory. Then select custom and then set it to 5000 -10,000 MB (set the Max to around 5000 over the minimum). You can do this on one drive or spread it out over several drives.

Another solution is to just play in borderless windowed mode because it's almost the same, at least it doesn't bother me.
