Hello,
I’ve recently bought an ultrawide monitor (Huawei MateView GT 34 - 34”, 3440x1440, 165hz) and I have a problem connecting it to my graphic card.
I have an old Gigabyte R9 280x, that has 1 dvi port, 1 hdmi port (1.4a up to 2560x1440 with 60hz) and 2 miniDP (1.2 up to 4k). So, in order to have the maximum resolution i bought a MiniDP to Hdmi adapter (it support up to 4k@30hz. Product link: https://www.hama.com/00200332/hama-video-adapter-mini-displayport-plug-hdmi-socket-ultra-hd-4k ) and connected through an hdmi cable (i know that i’ll get only 100hz this way, but I didn’t find a good miniDP to DP cable right now).
The problem is that, even that i connected the monitor to the graphic card through adapter, i still get only 2560x1440@60hz max resolution no matter what i do. Can you give me some suggestion what can i do?
Many thanks
Ps. I tested the HDMI cable with my laptop that has a 2.0 HDMI and connected it to the monitor and i get 3440x1440@100hz, so the cable is not the problem
