hello,

I am selecting parts for a new gaming rig. So I'd like your opinion on my selection, if the parts work well together and so on.

specs:

* Case: BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX
* RAM: 16GB Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9
* PSU: be quiet! PURE POWER L8 600W
* CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K Box, LGA1150
* SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO SATA 6Gb/s 500 GB
* CPU Cooler: Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.B
* Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97N-WIFI, Sockel 1150
* GPU: ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5

Thinking about switching the GPU against the GTX980, and the CPU against an i7.

I am trying to build a rig that performs well but is still fairly quiet and would last me a a while without the need upgrading too soon.

thanks for your help!

Id probably stick with the i5 then get the 980 then replace the PSU. A better modular power supply will help you a lot in such small build. Cheapest one around is the Seasonic M12II EVO 520W, Enough power. be quiet! PURE POWER L8 is at the tier 3. There are loads of better PSU that costs cheaper or probably a bit higher but is better and stable for your build. I also suggest getting a 1TB HDD and a 128gb SSD. So that you got back up. If you want some good acoustics, try getting or canvassing some noctua cpu coolers. Best one imho.
