mini itx build

Hey so im building a mini itx gaming pc for my lil bro for his birthday. Looking to spend around 2k<.

Items already owned: keyboard, mouse, optical drive, and OS

some parts are good, others are kinda meh. as much as i like the CX power supplies for smaller or more budget builds, i think you should look at other options at that price point.

as for case, i personally LOVE my antec isk600. won't hold a ton of drives, but will take a slim-dvd plus dual SSD / 2.5" HDD and a single 3.5" HDD without that top tray.

The Fractal Design Core 500 (http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/fractal-design-case-fdcacore500bk) looks pretty good and PCPP shows it compatible with the items you have already selected.

Edit: And yeah, look for a better quality PSU.

This case just came out so no reviews yet that I know of but I think it looks pretty good and really squeezes the parts in their to get a nice compact case. http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q10/

Personally, I don't like slot ODD devices, and the lain-li's being upwards facing seems like it may attract debris. It's a good looking compact case though.

yeah, that's why i prefer my antec isk600. it uses a slim dvd like in a laptop, and if you don't need one you can leave the blank plate there. it'll take a big cooler too as long as your mobo / gpu allows the layout!
