Hi There,

After changing plans a few times I think I have got the rig I want for next gen games (with an eye to do a system refresh in two years) and I have got the below specs:

- Case Cooler Master Elite 120 Mini ITX
- Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI Motherboard (Intel H87 Express
- MSI AMD HD7790 2GB DDR5
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP
- Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W, 4th Generation Intel Core, Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

What do you think guys? It will cost me £430.00 I have got my own hard disk from my previous broken laptop that would do the job 650MB, and I would use my 27" TV as screen!

Bear in mind that I would be able to upgrade to a better graphic card + cpu in a couple of years and that I want to stick with Mini ITX.

I look forward to hear your opinions!

Didn't know about the 130 and it's only £10 extra! Thanks.

About the PSU something silend and cheap 😀

What do you think about performance?

7790 is not maybe best card but like u did say u can upgrade it later. And for low resolution 1080p it can work well :)

Are u sure about this? Have u try OC?
How about this?

B-85 mobo + 4770k and OC about 4.6GHz?

I read that however I think the Z model of that motherboard allow to oc.

With regards to the graphic card I fancy a R9 270x it's 64 quid more expensive though.

These non Z boards that can OC are mostly hacked as in Intel does not allow OC on them, but board makers try to unlock it to make it work. To be on the safe side, it's better of get a Z board as we will know it can OC, instead of saving a few bucks by grabbing a non Z board, with fingers and toes crossed , hoping it will allow for OC.

I am not interested in OC anyway, however this card is under £100.00 with PCI 3.0 and WiFi therefore a good deal, I don't want to spend a £1000 pc for nothing :) I use it for gaming not experiments lol

"Overclocking
The GA-Z87N-WiFi's Z77 predecessor was let down by one small flaw when it came to overclocking, which was that it lacked vcore adjustment. Thankfully, it didn't render it totally useless when it came to dealing with K-series Ivy Bridge CPUs, and most systems we've seen that used it still managed at least 4.4GHz. However, there's no such limitation with the GA-Z87N-WiFi so it looks set to be much more overclocking-friendly."

My mistake, didn't see you have a Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI Motherboard, this uses the Z87 chipset which supports OC on a K CPU. All I saw was what you wrote "(Intel H87 Express".
If you're not going to OC, then consider on getting a non K CPU, they're cheaper.
But the way I see it, most ITX boards, non Z based lacks in features like wifi and/or BT. If it was mATX then I don't mind as you can always upgrade, for ITX, you really can't. The single PCIe x16 slot can be use for other PCIe card besides a GPU, but most will install a GPU in it, so if you want to add more parts, then it's only USB adapters.
Some ITX board have 802.11AC, if your planning to use Wifi.

I actually copied what is on Amazon, must be their mistake in the description (hopefully).

I have looked around and I can save £30 if I get a non K processor: the Intel Core i5 4570 Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.20GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W

About PSU Zalman ZM500-GS 500W, I preferred something cheaper but then again you get what you pay for, and I do not want something quiet not noisy 😉

Hey this is best spu for NON OC use.

Look seasonic or superflower or rosewill gold psu. they are good.

That is too expensive :) It will more be for gaming and multimedia, I think I will stick with the CPU.

I am still unsure about graphic card, I will defo stick with AMD due to next gen console being AMD.

I may use the integrated HD 4XXX graphic card until end of the month then get a good one :)

Once everything is done I will post picture, specs and tests for other people looking for a next-gen minipc / may well get a sticker and call it TrustdesaBox lol
