Hello Tom's Hardware. Me and a friend of mine have never built a PC so we spent the last 3 or 4 weeks researching on how to build one and to test if we really learned we decided to build a super cheap PC just to check if it all works in the end. We already chose the parts and we are only coming here for a final compatibility check from the pro's and also I will ask some questions we have regarding the research about the components we chose.
So the components are the following:
Intel Celeron G3900 Dual-Core 2.8GHz 2MB Skt1151
MSI GT 710 2GD3H LP
MSI H110M PRO-D
Crucial 1x4GB DDR4-2133MHz Single Ranked
TOSHIBA 500GB 7200RPM 32MB SATA III
Corsair VS350W
Nox Forte USB 3.0 Micro-ATX
So the main questions we have are the following:
■ In the motherboard page, it says that the memory channel is dual but the RAM we have is a single 4GB stick that says Single Ranked. Will it still work with no problems and will the RAM be recognized?
■ The motheboard has a 24-pin ATX main power connector and a 4-pin ATX 12V connector. And as I read in the PSU page, it only comes with a 4-pin ATX 12V. Will the PSU be able to still connect and give the components all the power required?
So this are all the questions we have regarding the rig we choose, it will cost us about 280€ (I already have peripherals and as we aren't going to give it any special use, we will connect it to a 1080p TV we have through HDMI). Thanks for the time you spent helping us and all the best to you!
